Corporate description/mission

Molecular robotics, one of grant-in-aid for scientific research on innovative areas, aims to develop amoeba-type robots and slime-type robots represented by giant liposomes and gels, respectively. Programmable DNA nano-technologies such as DNA-origami and DNA-computing play very important roles to realize sensors and intelligence.

Amoeba-type moelcular robot

An amoeba-type molecular robot consists of a giant liposome equipped with molecular sensors, molecular actuators and a molecular controller implemented by DNA-origamis, microtubule-motor protein conjugates and DNA computing, respectively. DNA nano-technology known as DNA-origami and DNA-computing plays a very important role to realize systematic design of molecular robots.
